Match of the day!!

We visited Temple Park leisure centre in South Shields to compete in the Wanderers Under 11’s six a side football competition. We were drawn in group 1 alongside Epinay School, Bamburgh school and Silverdale School. We played each team once and were fantastic in our attitude, skill and teamwork. We then made it to a 5/6th place playoff match against John Spence school and although we tried hard ended up finishing in 6th spot in the competition.

Results:

Hadrian 5 – 0 Bamburgh

Epinay 4 – 1 Hadrian

Hadrian 0 – 4 Silverdale

Hadrian 0 – 5 John Spence

Well done everyone!

In the zone at the Walker Dome!

Hadrian school children from year 2 and 3 travelled to the Walker Dome yesterday for a fun filled PE and sports morning. There was fine motor, gross motor and a whole selection of tremendous sports activities for the children to try. Well done to all who attended, you were brilliant and gave everything a go.

Cross Country

On Wednesday a select group of athletes from Year 2 and Year 4 attended the Wanderers Cross Country event. We ran a course of over 1km in the cold, rain and wind. We ran up hills, down hills, through the trees and through puddles but still didn’t complain, with everyone coming home with a sprint finish.

We had a well deserved biscuit and juice before heading back to school.

Well done to all the runners, you should be very proud of yourselves!

Well didn’t we do well at the Wanderers….

On Tuesday the 19th September a combined group of athletes from 6A and 6B made the trip to Monkton Stadium to take part in lots of track and field events.

The competition was fierce in the under 11 category but all of our athletes were fantastic and finished in the top 3 of every event. Quite an achievement I can tell you! All of our athletes were fantastic on the day and showed great sportsmanship towards the other schools that attended.

In total we won: 7 Golds, 2 Silvers and 6 Bronze medals. Once the points were counted our Boys team had claimed 3rd place overall and our Girls team were declared as overall winners in their age group.

Overall everyone that attended had tremendous fun, a bright sunny day and huge smiles on their faces!

Thanks

6A and 6B

16/2/17 Wanderers Rebound/Sensory Circuits

At Hadrian School we go to many events organised by the Wanderers League. On Thursday it was our turn to contribute by hosting a Rebound and Sensory Circuits event. We had Gibside, Hilltop and Bamburgh Schools come for a morning of sport.

Everybody worked hard, had a great time and received a medal at the end.

Look at us Climbing!

Our class are such an active bunch and like nothing more than exploring large apparatus. In PE this half term we have been learning how to use various pieces of apparatus in the School Hall including the ropes and large climbing bars. We have seen the children’s confidence and climbing ability develop over the six weeks and they have truly loved every session.

Just look at our class in action.

Class 2A Do Some Ballet!

This afternoon we had a very special visitor come into our class and teach us some ballet. We learned how to point our feet and all about the different positions.
Hayley also treated us to a lovely performance of the Blue Bird Variation. We were all amazed.
It was a truly wonderful afternoon which we all enjoyed.
